Thousands of telegrams
The flow of medals to New Zealand competitors at the Commonwealth Games has brought a flood of telegrams to the athletes’ village at Ham. More than 3000 congratulatory telegrams were delivered to athletes between Friday and Sunday, the bulk of them to the winner of thel 10,000 metres, Richard Tayller. On Friday 980 telegrams: arrived, on Saturday 648 and 1 on Sunday 263.
