Abortions alleged
Some 263 Italian and foreign women could face tria lin Trento and up to five years imprisonment if found guilty of having abortions. The public prosecutor of the north Italian town said he discovered the names of 263 women who had allegedly had abortions after studying the records of a local doctor arrested last year on charges of performing an abortion. The doctor was given provisional liberty and had since left the country, the police said.—Trento (Italy), Jan. 27.
