Forbury’s protest
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. The meeting arranged by the Forbury Park Trotting Club for Monday evening to discuss the decision of the New Zealand Trotting Conference to change the venue for the 1975 Inter-Dominion Championships has been postponed. Acceptances for the first night of the club's festival meeting to be run on Wednesday close on Monday, and the president (Mr L. O. Shirley) said he was finding it difficult to arrange a suitable date. But the committee Intends to meet as soon as possible. In the meantime members of the committee are examining every way of making their protest as effective as possible. The treasurer (Mr V. C. Anngow), who sent a telegram of protest to the Prime Minister (Mr Kirk) has received the following reply from the Prime Minister's office: "In the absence of the Prime Minister in Christchurch, I am acknowledging your telegram regarding the Trotting Conferdecision on the InterDominion Trotting Championships, and am obtaining a report for the Prime Minister for discussion with his colleague. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr May) at an early date."
