U.S.-Japan accord

WASHINGTON, Jan. 15
American and Japanese officials have agreed to continue the “realignment and consolidation” of United States military bases in Japan. Although specific topics were not disclosed after the ninth annual United StatesJapan security talks at the State Department in Washington, the two sides are known to have discussed the [effects on security of the energy crisis, the politicalj security situation, and American military bases in Asia.
