Driving title to D. Oxton

LEVIN.
D. Oxton (Auckland) has successfully defended the Black and Decker national racing drivers’ championship by winning the final of the series’ seven rounds, held at Levin yesterday.
Oxton brought his Begg FMS car home from England to compete in the championship. Saturday’s round was run in two heats and Oxton led easily from the start in the first to win. He attempted the same feat in the second but dropped back to second
with a jammed throttle as he started his last lap. The heat was won by A. McCully (Invercargill).
