Improbable leading
(N.Z, Press Association) HOBART. The United States yacht Improbable, 241 miles east of the Tasmanian coast, appears to be leading the unofficial Hobart to Auckland yacht race.
l The race began on January . 4. The field is comprised :■ mainly of New Zealand i yachts returning home from r the Sydney to Hobart yacht '• race. There are nine yachts competing and it is expected v that the race will finish by . January 12. i’ Officials at the Hobart 1 Yacht Club said the race ' was a purely informal one, s organised by the skippers of the competing yachts. The 5 officials said that for this Ireason they were not plotsting positions and were only aware of the day-to-day j leader. J
