Kriter in lead

f.V.Z. Press Association) PORTSMOUTH. The French yacht Kriter has taken the lead in the third leg of the Round the World yacht race, race officials said yesterday. The yachts are now round the southern tip of New Zealand on their way from Sydney to Rio de Janeiro. A spokesman for the organising committee in the Royal Naval Sailing Association at Portsmouth said the Mexican boat Sayula, leading over all, was in second position with Britain 2 and Second Life third and fourth. But several boats, including the Italian vessels, Guia and Cserb, and the Polish boats, Copernicus and Otago, had not reported back for several days and this could alter the handicap positions, the spokesman said.
