Johann Cruyff, of Barcelona, was yesterday named top European “footballer of the year” by the magazine “France Football.”

Cruyff,. the Dutch star who joined the Barcelona club this year, received 96 points in a ballot among 25 soccer correspondents from European newspapers.

The Italian goal-keeper. Dino Zoff (Juventus), was second in the poll, with 47 points'. Third and fourth were the Bayern Munich stars, Gerd Muller (44) and Franz Beckenbauer (30), while fifth, with 22 points, was the Scottish and Leeds United star, Billy Bremner.
