Bridge work for Enex

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON. A New Zealand engineering consortium, Enex, has been engaged by the Malaysian Government to supervise construction of bridges on an important east-west highway scheme in Malaysia. The project is being financed largely by the Asian Development Bank, of which New Zealand is a member. The Associate Minister of Foreign Affairs (Mr Walding) said that he was particularly pleased that New Zealand skill was competing internationally for this work. “This is an example of the growing role New Zealand expertise is playing in assisting developing countries in South-East Asia and the Pacific,” said Mr Walding.
