Missing priest reappears

4N.Z.P. A. -Reuter —Copyright) BILBAO (Spain). The Rev. Bernardo Benavides, aged 37, a Roman Catholic priest, is back at his home in Bilbao after a two day disappearance which had given rise to speculation that he had been kidnapped. He went today to the central police station in Bilbao to make a statement, but his family, church officials, and the police all declined to comment on his unexplained absence. It had been thought that he might have been kidnapped in connection with the six priests on hunger strike in a clerical prison in Zamora, in western Spain, his home town. His brother said on Saturday that he himself had received an anonymous letter last week, threatening unspecified action against Father Benavides if the Zamora priests were not released.
