Small loss for Reefton club

(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. Th® Reefton Jockey Club (accounts showed a loss of $213 ‘last season, but he did not feel j unduly concerned about this in ‘view of the club’s comparatively good stake of *950 for the three maiden events and the provision of a full stake for each division of the hack event, said the club’s president (Mr A. B. HaUaran) at the annual meeting on Tuesday. Mr Hallaran expressed thanks to the donors of trophies to the value of more than $5OO, and to the Reefton Trotting Club for its continued cooperation. “It was hoped that the matter of possible regionalisation, as it concerned West Coast clubs would have been settled.” said Mr Hallaran. "Consequently, the Reefton club was unable to pro ceed with further improvements without the approval of the Racing Authority and subsequent uplifting of funds held in the amenities account.”
