The Team Lotus drivers for the coming European racing season will be J. Ickx and R. Peterson. The team has a new Grand Prix car now ready for testing. The first race of the new season will be the Argentine Grand Prix in January. * * *
The American Universal Oil Products Shadow racing team will run two cars in European Grand Prix events next year, and one of the drivers will be the former McLaren team driver, P. Revson. * # #
About 70 entries have now been received for the Shell ’74 rally, which will start from Auckland on January 13. The entries so far include M. Marshall and A. L. McWatt (Escort RS 1600), A. Cowan and J. Scott, A. Hyslop, T. Bailey and J. Power (Porsche), Judy Hanbury and Mary Carney, B. Robson and J. Rolfe (Escort RS 1600), and P. Adams and D. Fenwick. Additional supplementary regulations for the event will be issued next month. * * *
The University Motor Club and the Westland Car Club will hold a combined sprint meeting and club racing day at Ruapuna Park on Saturday, December 1. # # ♦
R. McPhail has been elected president of the Open Saloon Car Association for the next year. The new vice-president is R. McElrea.
