FINE RISE
Maximum penalties for many traffic offences will be doubled in Britain under a Bill which is soon to go before Parliament. The Bill will allow maximum fines of £lOO for ex-
ceeding the speed limit, careless driving, under-age driving, dangerous parking, failing to stop after an accident, and driving in a bus-only lane. The maximum penalty for parking offences generally will be increased from £5 to £2O.
