Advice for overweight
(By
NORMAN HARTNELL)
LONDON. So it’s impossible for a woman who is overweight to look glamorous? Don’t you believe it. Follow a few simple rules, and, though you will still be left with those extra inches, you will never go short of compliments. The first golden rule is never to wear a creased dress — nor put on a pair of tights with holes, a white collar that looks grey, or scruffy make-up. Avoid untidy hair, too. Here are some special tips if your hips are more than 44 inches. Remember to wear faceframing hats and chunky jewellery, but the hats must be fashionable and the jewellery non-tamishable. Never wear chipped nail enamel. Make sure your skirts are never so tight that they ride up or crease around the thighs and hips — this looks unsightly. Don’t wear your husband’s sloppy joe sweater. It doesn’t conceal your bulges, and it looks what it is — sloppy.
