Hotel flower trough move

The Commonwealth Games Garden Promotion Committee will write to the Hotel Association of New Zealand, and the Retail Motor Traders’ Association to ask them to consider using the flower troughs being made by the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society for the committee.

The committee feels that the troughs could be used to decorate the interiors of hotels and the forecourts of service stations and car dealers’ premises during the period of the Games. It will also investigate the possibility of the committee’s having couriers on tour buses. It feels that if there were a committee member on each bus. the horticultural features of the city would get full prominence.
