Horse trials won by Dusky Bay

Fresh from his major success in the North Island last week, Dusky Bay, ridden by Mrs F. West (Ranglora), had no trouble to win the Holmslee Cup in the open class at the Wills-Claridge circuit horse trials held by the Canterbury area of the New Zealand Horse Society on Mr G. Barclay’s property at McLeans Island yesterday. After winning the dressage phase. Dusky Bay was clear in the cross-country and show jumping to win from Miss G. Wilding, on Craypot. Sixty-two entries this year was a big increase on former years, especially in the pony event, with 24 being a record. Results were:
