(N.ZP. A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, June 13. The Soviet Union tonight reaffirmed opposition to any attempt by individual countries, “supplanting the United Nations” in efforts to resolve the Middle East conflict. The Soviet delegate, Mr Jacob Malik, in a statement in the Security Council debate directed his comments against the United States, which has been seeking an interim settlement including the reopening of the Suez Canal Mr Malik, president of the council this month, again demanded that Israel withdraw from all occupied Arab territory. The Soviet Union was interested in establishing lasting peace in an area close to its borders not a “precarious truce which would be to the advantage of the aggressor," he said.
