PROPERTY SALES
A three-bedroomed, weatherboard bungalow on 35 perches at 101 Clarendon Terrace, Woolston, was sold at auction on Thursday for $16,500, just under three times its Government valuation, $5BOO, Mr C. M. Robertson, for Sherris and Wilson, Ltd, was the auctioneer.
A four-bedroomed house at 78 Avondale Road, which was passed in at $19,000 on Wednesday after failing to reach the reserve price, was sold privately for $20,000 by Mr Robertson. Two other houses offered for sale at auction were passed in.
One was a single-bedroom bungalow on 26 perches at 23 Kearneys Road, North Linwood. It has a Government valuation of $4600 and was passed in at $9750. The auctioneer was Mr E. G. Keenan for Binns, Barber and Keenan, Ltd. The other was a five-bed-room house on 19.3 perches at 2 Hardwicke Street, Sumner. It was passed in at $10,300. The Government valuation is $4500. Mr L. B. Allan, of Matson and Allan, Ltd, was the auctioneer.
