YACHT AT MURUROA

(N.Z. Press Association)

PITCAIRN ISLAND, May 25.

The nuclear protest yacht Spirit of Peace yesterday approached within 20 miles of Mururoa Atoll and is in radio contact with the mother ship Fri. The Fri reported yesterday that the captain of the Spirit of Peace (Mr B. Rhodes) had outlined his plans to circumnavigate the atoll—the centre of the French nuclear test zone—before a rendezvous with the Fri in several days. The Fri is to supply the Spirit of Peace with diesel fuel, fresh water, and fresh fruit.
