Festival of N.Z. film
A festival of New Zealand ? films will be run next week? for high-school pupils by the? Canterbury Film Society. The! ( films will be screened in the Museum Lecture Theatre at j 10 a.m. every morning from j May 14 to 18 and high-school pupils will be admitted free j of charge. The festival will feature ; old New Zealand comedies. , two historical classics, a ' Maori-pakeha love story, and a selection of films made by , New Zealanders in the last: few years. A short film on ‘, the history of silent movies aqd a brief talk by a member; of the: society about the film about to be screened willl precede each showing. If the festival is well patronised, the society will | run French, Russian, and: other foreign film festivals ini future school holidays.
