The soccer idol George Best is back in training and mav play for Northern Ire- ' land in an international against England on May 12 i Best reported back to his club. Manchester United, on Thursday and trained by himself at the Old Trafford ground on Friday. Best’s willingness to train is being seen as a bid by the 27-year-old Irishman to return to big-time football. Among clubs clamouring for his signature are the London first division clubs Chelsea and Spurs, the j newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers, the relegated Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa in the second division.
All are trying to negotiate “pay-as-you-play” deals for . -the temperamental player. •
