New factory display

WESTPORT, April 2
A demonstration of work was given last evening at the new plastics factory of Matai Industries, Ltd, in Westport. The factory is one of four the firm is establishing bn the West Coast. There will be two at Greymouth and one at Reefton.
Engineers and workmen have been busy installing plant, including an injection moulding machine, at the Westport branch, in a former dairy factory on the Esplanade. Westport contractors have been busy building. The factory, which will produce children’s toys, plastic flowers and other goods, is expected to have a staff of 140 by June.
