HEATHCOTE POWER UP
Application lor further rise The Heathcote County Council’s electricity charges will increase by 5 per cent ion and after April 1. The council reached this decision at its meeting last evening and agree'd to apply for permission to make a further increase. The council’s electricity committee recommended that charges be increased by 15 per cent; but this was deciI ded before the Minister of Finance (Mr Rowling) anI nounced that tariff increases would be limited to 5 per cent over the next three years. The council directed its electricity committee to review its estimates in view of ;'the reduction in the increase the council had hoped to make.
