Memorial service

A memorial service for the | founder of Toe H, the Rev. ! Philip Byard (“Tubby”) Clayton, will be held in St John’s Presbyterian Church, Wellington, on Wednesday. The service will be conducted by the Rev. D. T. W. Kinloch, Dominion padre of Toe H, and the tribute to Mr Clayton will be read by Mr P. Liner, a long-serving mem-, ber of Toe H. Mr Clayton died in London ; on December 16. Bom in l Australia, he founded Toe Hl in a service rest-centre in' Poperinge, Belgium, in 1915. The movement spread! throughout the world. Ini j 1925, Mr Clayton came to ' ' New Zealand to start | branches here, and Toe H still serves the elderly, infirm, the young, the deprived and prisoners. The memorial service will include the ceremony of light 1 featured in every Toe H. gathering around the world. ■
