Warning on Games

AUCKLAND, Jan. 11
At least two-thirds, and perhaps nine-tenths of the Commonwealth countries could be expected to follow Zambia in withdrawing from the Commonwealth Games, said the secretary of the Citizens’ Association for Racial Equality (Mr T. O. Newnham) in Auckland tonight. “On present indications the 'Christchurch Games must ‘collapse because New Zealand has ignored the most elementary rule for any sucIcessful host, namely to re;spect the feelings of one’s [guests,” he said.
