ENGLAND LOSS

Prop breaks right leg

(N.Z PA.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON M. Burton, the 27-year-old England prop forward, broke his right leg during a weekend training run in preparation for the test match against the All Blacks at Twickenham next Saturday. Burton, who was a member of the England team ! which beat South Africa in Johnnesburg last June, will be out of action for at least six weeks. The accident occurred only a few minutes after the England squad of 32 started a two-day work-out. “I slipped, and my weight went one way and my leg the other,” Burton said. "I heard a crack, and when I was taken to hospital they found the right fibula had snapped.” Burton had a good chance of regaining his England place from F. Cotton, who has been under intensive treatment for a damaged lumbar nerve.
