Gold Star to Oxton

(N.Z. Press Association) TAURANGA D. Oxton (Auckland) clinched the 1972-73 New Zealand motoi racing Gold Star with a convincing drive at the Bay Park Race|way, Mount Maunganui, on Sun 'day. Oxton took his yellow Begg FMS to victory in the second part of the two-part race io avenge his defeat in the earlier part by a fellow Aucklander. Escort ,RSI6(M.h. both won two races to keep their positions in the Castrol GTX series. Both Formula Ford races wer* won by G. Baker, of Christchurcn (P.D.L. Titan).
