A depression north of the Chatham Islands is moving north-east; a depression far to the south-west of the country is moving south-east and its associated cold front is expected to weaken as it moves towards central New Zealand during the day. FORECASTS: CANTERBURY AND THE KAIKOURA COAST. —South-westerlies freshening again about the coast and brief, light showers this morning; moderate temperatures. MARLBOROUGH AND NELSON.—Fine; moderate variable winds; mild by day. BULLER AND WESTLAND.—South-westerlies fresh at times; mainly fine but brief showers in the south this morning, spreading north to reach Buller about noon; moderate temperatures.
