Drive right campaign
A campaign is under way to encourage Pacific Islands countries to change to driving on the right-hand side of the road, reports the New Zealand Road Federation’s journal, “Better Roads.” Those seeking the change argue that the areas are not yet densely populated, and that now is the time to change before an anticipated economic and driving population boom makes the changes more difficult. The island areas involved include Fiji, the Gilbert, and Ellice Islands, Niue, Papua and New Guinea. Profit rise.—The net profit of the S.T.P. Corporation rose 68 per cent in the third quarter of the present financial year, reaching sl.7m.
