‘U.S. dairy opening’

(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) WASHINGTON, Dec. 6. American fanners were told today by the Secretary of Agriculture (Mr Butz) that the United States would have to make concessions in agricultural trade during the next round of international trade negotiations. “It comes down to the plain truth that in order to get something we must give something,” he said.

The comments came in the wake of informed speculation in Washington that consideration is being given to easing restrictions on the importation of dairy products.
