TV time urged for Maoris

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Oct. 30. Maori candidates representing the main parties should have time on television to state their case about their social problems as seen through Polynesian eyes, says the Waikato regional council of the Social Credit Political League. The council called on the N.Z.B.C. and the Government to make it plain they will give Maori candidates appropriate television time. No objection would be raised if each of the main: parties were allocated an extra five minutes of tele-! vision time for Maori repre-' sentatives to reach their: wide-spread electorates, and; thus ensure that the Maori: people were properly informed, said the council.
