College XI poised for win

Christ’s College was poised for an outright win yesterday against Otago Boys’ High School in the annual two-day cricket fixture at the college grounds. At stumps yesterday, Otago was 85 for nine wickets chasing the college first innings score of 236 for eight declared. The Otago batsmen failed to counter the pace bowling of C. Newton, who — off 11 overs — has taken five wickets.
