RECORD SET

British Leyland retail sales of cars reached 67,000 in August. The company says this represents the highest retail sales figure ever recorded by any car manufacturer in Britain for any one month. It is 14 per cent higher than the company’s equivalent figure for August, 1971. The most popular model was the Morris Marina followed by the Austin 1100/1300 range.
