■ Mrs A. C. Begg, of Mount iSomers, wife of the immediate past president of New (Zealand Federated Farmers, is the Liberal Reform Party’s candidate in the Rakaia electorate for the General Election.
Mr Begg did not offer him-i self for re-election as presi-| dent of Federated Farmers in] protest against what he said! was haste by the Wool Board in pushing for wool-market-, ing legislation. Mrs Begg has a B.Sc. de-i gree from Otago University' and taught at the Landsdown! Primary School, Masterton,; for a year. During World War 111, she worked with the Soil, Survey Division of the; 'D.S.I.R.
