fN.Z. Press Association) MELBOURNE. The Melbourne Cup favourite, Magnifique, has only a slim chance of coming to Australia, according to her trainer. E. Temperton, last night, the •'Daily reported yesterday. Magnifique was a hot favourite when beaten into tenth in the Teachers Handicap (2000 m. at Otaki last Saturday.

In a telephone interview on Monday night, Temperton said Magnifique would have one more chance to redeem herself, in the Centennial Gold Cup (2200 m. at Masterton on October 7.

Magnifique Is booked to leave New Zealand on October 16. She has been favourite for the Melbourne Cup ever since first markets were framed.
