Z Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. A measure to bring aspects of the Council for Educational Research up to date was introduced in Parliament today.

The New Zealand Council for Educational Research Bill provides for representation on the council’s electoral college to be extended to bodies such as technical institutes and the Association of University Teachers.

In* -ducing the bill, the Minister of Education (Mr Pickering) said the measure also removed certain restrictions on the council’s functions and acknowledged that the council’s interests and activities might extend overseas.
