Re-election to Wool Board

Mr L. P. Chapman, of Mount Somers, who has been a member of the Wool Board for 12 years, and Mr A. G. Lawrence, of Tinui, who has been a member for three years, were reelected at the annual meeting of the electoral committee of the board in Wellington yesterday.

There were six candidates for the two seats, including the sitting members. One of the candidates, Mr B. H. Palmer, who is chairman of the meat and wool section and also of the wool committee of North Canterbury Federated Farmers, said when the results were announced that they were grower confirmation that

the course being followed by the board was the correct one—a reference to the marketing issue. Another candidate, Mr R. W. Palmer, of Wairau Valley, Marlborough, said it also indicated that the industry was behind what the board was doing.
