A grade billiards
Spreydon I tightened its grip •n this year’s A-grade billiards competition when its nearest rival, Kalapoi, slipped further behind last week. Spreydon had a 3-0 win over Woolston—it has not dropped a game in six rounds—and Kaiapol managed only- a 2-1 victory over one of the bottom teams, Veterans. The Veterans No. 1, V. Choat. upset Kalapoi by beating L. Rolleston in a very close game. With three rounds remaining the points are: Spreydon I, 40: Kalapoi, 35; R.S.A., 32; Shirley, 22; Hornby, 21; Post Office, 18; Spreydon H, 15; Woolston I, Woolston II and Veterans, all 14.
