Yachtsmen satisfied

(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) COPENHAGAN. New Zealand’s Olympic Dragon-class yachtsmen were well satisfied with their first race in the Gold Cup regatta at Kongeltg near Copenhagen Although F. Beer, N. Everett, and R. Watson only finished twenty-second, they were pleased to be in the first half of the 46-b Oat field. The yachting team manager (Mr H. Wagstaff), sailing with D. Brown, and W. Moyes, finished in twentieth place. Mr Wagstaff said Watson had experimented with different headsalls during the race and that after lying thirty-fifth at the half-way mark he had picked up 13 places on the homeward leg. “We were a bit rusty after the long winter lay-off,” he said. “We should improve as we begin to settle down.” The first race was won by the West German, F. Hellmeier.
