Record stakes in September Record stakes will be paid at the Methven Trotting Club’s spring meeting on Saturday, September 23. They will be up by $7OO over last year’s $11,170 and there will be the additional value of a free stallion service attached to each race. Stallion owners have donated 10 services and the owners of all winners, including divisions, will receive one. The stallions concerned are Game Pride, Hodgen’s Surprise, Indecision, Whip Away, Forward, Out to Win, Eagle Armbro. Scotch Abbe, Mark Lobell and Brad Hanover. The limit for the Methven Cup has been let out Isec to 2min 14sec and the stake will be $2400, plus a stallion service. The only other change in the programme from last year is the tightening of the limit for the Riverbank Handicap, for trotters, by Isec to 2min 17sec and the stake has been increased by $2OO to $l4OO.
