‘MORALS IN DANGER’

Lower Hutt society grows A steering committee to set up a Christchurch branch of the Society for the Promotion of Community Standards has been formed. Messrs G. E. Candy and P. B. Cosgriff, in a statement said that they were convinced that many people shared with them a concern over “the decline in moral and social values in all sections of our community,” and felt uncertain how to share their feelings with others of similar views. Recent publicity to censorship and the controversies over books, shows and films, had prompted the societys formation. Prospective members can write to the secretary, Society for the Promotion of Community Standards, P.O. Box 30-692, Lower Hutt.- A general meeting of the branch will be held in Christchurch soon.
