C.A.R.E. plan for tour
(N.Z. Press Association} AUCKLAND, July 20. The Citizens’ Association | for Racial Equality last night] reaffirmed its support for “disciplined well-prepared and passive” protest demonstrations against the proposed' Rugby tour of New Zealand' by South Africa. Its secretary (Mr T. O. Newnham) said the special 1 meeting passed a resolution reaffirming the protest: methods of Operation Prism 1 —passive but resolute] invasion of Springbok] matches. C-A.R.E. would also support further demonstrations in association with other groups where its management committee was satisfied these were planned to be carried out in an entirely peaceful manner that would help to win public support for C.A.R.E.’s view on sporting contacts with South Africa.
