Motor industry
Sir, —“The Press” has, on several occasions, printed reports of the moaning of the motor industry. They are crying to the Government to make the buying of new motor cars easier. For many years they have demanded and got trade-ins at a price which, when resold, will return a profit equal to or larger than that of a new vehicle. The new-car buyer is now in a good bargaining position, and about time, too. Perhaps now the motor industry will become more efficient in the assembly of vehicles, thus reducing the price, instead of crying out for Government assistance.—Yours, etc..
NO SYMPATHY. July 3, 1972.
