Joe Cocker to tour

The English pop singer, Joe Cocker, is to make two appearances in New Zealand in October, and one of them will be in Christchurch on October 3.

He will be travelling with a troupe of 31, including the Patto Group, Gerry Lockram, and the Chris Stainton Band, and the promoters, Harry M. Miller Attractions, say the performances will run for three hours and a half. The promoters will have to pay for a lot of excess baggage—the troupe plans to bring 15 tons of sound equipment from England. This will be the first pop tour Mr Miller has organised since 1966, when he brought out the Rolling Stones. Joe Cocker’s other appearance in New Zealand will be at Western Springs, Auckland on October 5.
