Young Nick sold

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The One Ton Cup yacht Young Nick has been sold to a Canadian yachtsman, and will now sail for Canada against New Zealand in the cup defence by Australia in Sydney in December. P. Mulgrew, with an industrialist. L. Fisher, a joint owner of the Sparkman and Stephens Swan 37, announced the sale of the boat yesterday. The boat’s new owner will come to Auckland to sail it before taking it across the Tasman for the series. “He has asked not to be named,” said Mulgrew. “He is involved in naval architecture and is an experienced yachtsman.” Young Nick, skippered by A. Warwick and representing New Zealand, finished third to Australia’s Stormy Petrel (S. Fischer) and Germany’s Optimist B (H. Bielken) in the series in the Hauraki gulf last year.
