Mexican art

Sir, —During this month we are very fortunate in having visit our city, an exhibition of Mexican art, covering a period of 2500 years. Those who have seen it will appreciate the wealth of heritage of these ancient civilisations and the tremendous art value of the exhibits. Last Saturday, however, many irresponsible parents decided that the gallery should become a play centre. Children raced and chased perilously close to these great treasures and although breakages are covered by insurance (we checked), of course the pieces are irreplaceable. In future we would like to see parents and their children treat the gallery with the respect it deserves or be asked to leave.—Yours, etc. MR and MRS D. LAUGHLIN. July 2, 1972.
