Decision upheld

(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. The Southland district committee of the Racing Conference on Thursday dismissed an appeal by Mr K. F. Laidlaw, of Nightcaps, against the decision of the judicial committee of the Riverton Racing Club to relegate his horse, Funny Way, from first to second in the Easter Flying Mile at Riverton on April 3. The district committee issued a statement saying: “After reviewing the evidence, hearing from J. D. Pankhurst (Superspan’s rider), and viewing the film of the incident, the committee finds no reason to reverse the decision of the Riverton judicial committee. Accordingly, the appeal is dismissed and the appellant’s deposit is forfeited. This is the unanimous decision of the committee.”
