Arapaho wins at Methven trials
Arapaho showed his fitness for a campaign at the Auckland meeting, which will open next Saturday, when ho won his heat of the free-for-all at trials held on Thursday at Methven.
Arapaho won handily from Pun, with General Demand beaten off at the head of the others.
The two-year-old filly, Edis Nova, recorded one of the highlights of the day when she won her heat of the 2:20 class event for trotters in 3:51 for the 13 furlongs. She won handilv from the more-seasoned Accras.
Only two pacers qualified to start at totalisator meetings. De Kay, a four-year-old gelding by Whipster from Countess Ada in G. D. Shand's Wasbdyke team, recorded 3:22 2-3, and Radiant Royal, a four-year-old mare bv Password from Vignon in C. S. Donald's Belfast team, returned 3:24.
