KAIKOURA MOVE

Decision on Tuesday

A combined meeting yesterday of representatives from the Canterbury and Marlborough Rugby Unions and the Canterbury Rugby sub-unions failed to reach a decision on whether the Kaikoura club’s senior Rugby team will be permitted to play in the Marlborough union’s competition this season. The club had previously said it wanted to play in the Marlborough competition, but it would have to get a clearance from the Canterbury Union before it could do this. The secretary of the Canterbury Union (Mr N. F. Moffitt) said yesterday that the matter would be discussed further by the executive of the Canterbury union at its meeting on Tuesday evening, and a decision would be reached then.
