GOOD CALF SALE

One of the first of the (pedal calf sales held at this time of the year took place at Tinwald this week

It was a strong sale. It attracted a yarding of 450 head and was followed Dy a large gallery. Most of the stock went to local buyers but some went to Doyleston and Leestoh, and buyers were present from South Canterbury and Southland. The best Steer calves realised from $BO to $B7, medium $7O to |76 and small and light $5B to There was also a strong inquiry for heifer calves. The top Hereford heifer calves sold from $7O to $7B and the best Angus and Angus cross from $66 to $7O. Few heifer calves wants below $BO.
